How did St. Jeremias become a saint?

Answer:

Answer

  1. The man is a great scholar.
  2. He translated many great works.
  3. His translations were said to be "divinly Inspired".
  4. He was very learned and at odds with the church authority at times for going against popular thinking.

I believe the above information applies to St. Jerome and not Jeremias. There are at least two saints named Jeremias. Both were martyrs and neither has either symbols or patronages. There is was also an Old Testament prophet named Jeremiah.
