How did Theodore Cleaver get the name Beaver in the old TV show 'Leave It To Beaver'?

When the Beaver was a baby, his older brother Wally (who was only a couple of years old) mispronounced his baby brother's actual name, "Theodore", as "Tweeter". His parents didn't want to call the new baby "Tweeter", and since they thought the name "Beaver" was similar, that's how he became "The Beaver".
