Answer:
Some felt alone, frightened and bewildered. A lot didn't know why they were being separated from thei friends and family. Imagine being sent away, not knowing why, to live with people you don't know. However, some felt excited, as if it was one big holiday, as many of these city children had never been to the countryside before.
