Most Egyptians were farmers.They farmed on the bank of Nile.Nile flooded between July and September and left a layer of alluvial soil.Farmrs would farm on this layer of fertile land aftr flooded.They have invented many farming tools like shaduf,sickle and plough.Some are fishermen,merchants and craftsmen.Some farmers would become merchants to sell excess crops.Fishermen fished along Mediterranean Sea,red Sea and river Nile with spears and nets.Merchants sold leather,jewellery,pottery and paper to people in other places.At the same time,they would import honey,ivory and timber.These are what Egypt was lack of.Craftsmen who made pottery and jewellery had a higher social status than farmers.There are other ways for living,some ancient Egyptians grew barley and grapes to make beer and wine.

Pharaoh was the head of country and had the highest social status.he was the ruler and religious leader of the country.Ancient Egypotians believed that he was the incarnation of God and could communiacate with gods.

nobles,officers,scribes,prime minister and priests belonged to this class.They had wealth,land,servants and they were the few people who knew to read and write.The prime minister helped the pharaoh to run the country

Fishermen,merchants and craftsmen belonged to this class.Fishermen fished along the Mediterranean sea,red sea and nile.Merchants traded different goods while craftsmen made home-made goods for living.

Criminals and prisoners belonged to this class.they didn't have much freedom and wer not protected by law.They had to build temples,pyramids and do lots of labour work.They were a the bottom of the social status in ancient Egyptian.

Pyramids was built as tomb for important people like pharaohs,member of royalty and nobility.The most famous pyramid is the Great Pyramid which was built in 2680 BC.The great Sphinx was built near it to protect it.it has a body of lion and head of a man.it was built by pharaoh Khafre in 2500 BC.
