In New Super Mario Bros(DS) Bowser is encountered in world 1. Once the player drops the bridge that Bowser stands on, He will drop into lava. Bowser is then seen with his skin melted off making him Dry Bowser. Dry Bowser was later encountered with the same battle sequence except that now he is immune to fire.
