∙ 12y agothere were kingdoms every direction from Arabia for islamics to conquer. the byzantines and Persia were soon conquered. conquests continued all around the mediterranean until 750 AD, when they had taken North Africa, areas of Asia minor, and even most of modern day Spain.

∙ 12y ago- they expanded in 3 phases. the first phase was conquests of countries by Arab armies. the second was through non-Arabs that had adopted Islam. the third was a peaceful phase, where Islam was spread by merchants and missionaries.
