His first movie was when he was 23, Cop Hater. He had been a great actor. He played so many movies. "John Goldfarb, Please Come Home, Delirious, I Love N.Y., Prince of the City, Toy Soldiers, Beauty and the Beast," and so on. Sadly though, his career ended on December 28, 2004. We will all remember of the days of his life. He had been ill for some days, and they underestimated the secondary effects of the Cancer he had. Cancer was the primary cause of death with drugs and anemia as contributing factors. In this Holiday Season, it is easy to think you can carry on when not feeling well, and then end up succumbing to the illness and prostate cancer.

No autopsy was ever performed, but his life seemed to be bothered him while he was in the hospital. He had suffered cancer for 3 days before his death. On the following day, December 29, 2004, Orbach's wife Elaine Cancilla Orbach, made her statement, "There is a funeral for Jerry. Please do the same for him. Love, Elaine and her two kids."

Jerry Orbach's funeral took place in Manhattan, where he was laid to rest alongside to his parents. Elaine Cancilla and her two kids kept his memory photos to his wife and his photo scrapbook to his two kids after he died.
