Roger Rabbit was the adopted son of a wholesome Kansas couple. He'd been left on their doorstep as a baby bunny. On his 18th birthday, in 1941, he sets out to search for his birth mother. Erroneously believing the character of Mr. Keene is a real person who can help Roger locate his mother, Roger heads to Hollywood and rushes to the radio station where he meets frumpy secretary Jessica Krupnick. Jessica wears glasses and is dressed rather unattractively. She seems strangely unaware of her own charms. But Roger sees beyond her mousy exterior and asks her for a date. As they grow closer, Roger makes the insecure Jessica laugh and encourages her to come out of her shell and enjoy life. Eventually, Jessica becomes totally uninhibited about her sex appeal and transforms herself into a seductive Torch singer. She and Roger get married.
