Greg "Fingers" Taylor was performing on stage with Jimmy Buffett at a Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers concert and looking out over the crowd of fans in their wild parrot head gear, fins, and feathers, turned to Jimmy Buffett and said something to the effect that "The Dead has Dead Heads, you've got Parrot Heads". It was overheard and stuck. Now there are around 220 Parrot Head Clubs around the world who "Party with a Purpose" while fund raising for global and local charities. Parrot Heads attempt to leave their communities and world just a little better than they found it.
