Answer

Muslims and Christians follow Islam and Christianity respectively both revealed by Allah/God. Muslims believe the birth of Jesus from maiden Mary was a miracle of Allah and his religion had been revealed by Allah as his third religion and commandments to some other Prophets like Abraham, Moses, Noah etc. Islam the last religion of Allah came to witness the revelations of the previous all three religions. Jesus came from a Jew mother, a descendant Israel of Ishak son of Abraham and Prophet Mohamed who brought the religion Islam a descendant of Ismael who was one of the son of Abraham and brother of Ishak. According to this, Muhammad and Jesus were from Abraham and both followed the religion (Oneness of God) of Abraham . Both Muslims and Christians believe that Jesus will come again to the earth before the end of this world. Muslims and Christians believe Moses and his miracle of spliting the sea, Noah and his miracle of the great deluge, Abraham and his miracles and the miraculous birth of Ishak from an old barren lady and old abraham. And there are somany things behind them.

There have been battles between Muslims and Christians ever since Islam first invaded the Byzantine Empire. You may need to be a little more specific as to what battle you are speaking about.

During his lifetime, Muhammad spent some time in discussions with Christians, and for a time some of his followers were able to find refuge with the Christian king of Abyssinia.

After his death, the wars of conquest launched by his successors, the caliphs, meant that Arab Muslims ended up fighting against the Byzantine (Greek / Roman) Empire, which was ruled by a Christian king, and was a Christian country.

Muslims were in a politically dominant position in the countries they conquered, but not numerically in majority at first. Until about AD 1000, in most of the former Byzantine territories conquered by the Muslims, they were about 50% of the population, with Christians making up the other 50%.

During this time, Christians were able to go about their business, although they suffered some heavy disabilities, as a tolerated but not-favoured religion.

Matters changed somewhat with the Muslim Turkic invasions that happened after AD 1000. This saw Christians suffering even further, primarily as a result of being the victims of a new conquest of the territory in which they were living.

Soon after this time, there was a push back against these conquests. This led to the rather ineffective Crusades launched by the Europeans, which did nothing to restore Byzantine power in the region. The Crusades are generally counted as a failure, with the Norman kingdom of Jerusalem surviving the longest out of the Crusade states. Eventually this kingdom also fell, and despite subsequent efforts, the Crusades states were not able to be revived.

In around AD 1400, when the Muslim Turks seized the western half of Anatolia (modern Turkey) from the Byzantine Empire, the Christian people previously living there either fled the region or were enslaved. The later Turkish wars in Europe were of a different kind, with those wars resulting in the conquered Christian populations suffering disabilities because they were Christian. They were tolerated as belonging to a non-favoured, but permitted, religion.
