How did the development of agriculture change people lives?

Agriculture, which began about 12000 years ago in Northern Africa, South America, and East Asia, moved people closer together to create cities and ignited trade. Agriculture started civilization as we know it. Because of what agriculture intrinsically leads man to do to land, which is cultivate it till it turns to barren desert, mass deforestation to clear more land until its tilled arid, and to remove the indigenous 'pests' (any species beside the crop, especially as of recently with synthetic nitrogen fertilizer and transgenic crops manipulated to withstand genocidal amounts of herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer) agriculture is the greatest man-made environmental disaster. But it's not so bleak with various old and new techniques to sustainable cultivation; however, some scholars, derided as 'Malthusian,' don't believe our Earth is capable of sustaining a population of nearly 7 billion homo sapiens and counting.
