In North America, the French and Indian War was lost by France. This gave to the British all the land below Canada, from the Mississippi River east to the British colonies on the east coast of North America. At the time, France was eliminated as a European power in North America. Also, in the nation of India, this war was won by Great Britain. India was then a colony totally dominated by Great Britain. At this time and for many years moving forward, the British empire was the largest in the world.
