Cupid falls in love with Psyche, and Psyche, trying to win back Venus' favor, undertakes four tasks: sorting the seeds, getting the golden fleece, getting water from the river Styx, and getting beauty from Proserpine. She had help in all four tasks. At the end of the story, they get married.
They were so happy to have been reunited that Cupid asked Jupiter's permission to marry her, in spite of the fact that she was not a goddess. And so they did!
