How did you get celiac disease?

Answer:
Celiac disease is a trait present only in those of Irish decent (celiac disease is indirectly caused by the potato famine, because when their diet changed over to wheat, their bodies were not accustomed to this change and an intolerance formed). However, not everyone of Irish decent does have this intolerance (its called a disease but its really an intolerance). Currently, celiac disease is believed to be incurable. It is passed down hereditarily (by parents to their children). If one parent has celiac disease, it is not absolute that the child will have this disorder if their other parent does not have the disease. As a side note, a gluten-free diets are becoming more widely recognized because professionals in the field of autism recommend a gluten-free diet.
