Most mechanics will tell you that this is a long and somewhat difficult job in terms purely of hours of labor amount of parts and components to deal with, disassemble, keep track of and reassemble without problems. In other words it is not "easy". The price of labor for most head gasket jobs will usually tell you that. In addition you will likely find other issues along the way not limited in any way, and could possibly include finding out your head is warped. It is for most mechanics nearly a full days work to put on a seemingly banal looking but extremely important component. Would not recommend this for a novice or weekend warrior. Things can go very wrong very easily.
