African elephants migrate by the use of the head female called the matriarch. The matriarch will lead a group of elephants (which are mainly females in a family blood line) by using her memory of routes that will lead herself and the group to food and water during a drought.
The Namibian elephant may constantly travel between food source and water source but I don't think any elephant truly migrates. And if they do I would think they would walk.
