Well, Guerrilla warfare is basically hit and run under cover, so the Vietcong during the Vietnam war used guerrilla warfare to combat american soldiers.
Hid behind trees, when the British army marched by, they were shot at. Then the Colonists ran away and didn't attack for another day or two. Or they shot, ran down the road a piece and fired again....
