5) Click the advanced button at the lower right hand of the dialogue box
6) Click the TCP/IP tab
7) It will be listed here called "Router" that is the same thing as gateway address.

∙ 13y agoThe Gateway is the connection between your home network and the ISP/Internet which, in a domestic set up, is usually via a router. In the network section of System Preferences with your network connection selected in the left hand pane click the Advanced... button in the bottom right corner of the right hand pane. Select the TCP/IP tab at the top and the address listed as Router: will be the gateway address.
This can also be found be selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu (top left corner), clicking the More Info... button and then selecting Network in the left hand pane. The address is found listed as Routers:
