How do birth control pills prevent conception?

Answer:
Birth Control Pills prevent pregnancy by suppressing ovulation - without ovulation there is no fertile egg, so no chance to get pregnant.
Some BCP also make cervical mucus thick which prevents sperm from moving freely through the reproductive tract and the lining of the uterus is not built up to allow a fertilized egg to implant in the small chance ovulation does occur.
