How do black mambas hunt?

Answer:
Black Mamba's are ambush & stealth hunters. Once they locate/detect a prey, the mamba freezes and then hurls itself forward towards the prey and issuing multiple quick bites. The venom swiftly kills the prey. Larger prey are usually left to run after the bite, but it will hold smaller prey like birds or rats until they stop moving. They feed on small mammals, rodents and even other snakes. Once the prey is dead, they swallow them whole.
