In general, Honda fuel problems are often misdiagnosed as a fuel pump problem, when in fact the fuel pump relay is the real culprit. The fuel pump relay (also known as the main relay) in various Honda models (Accord, Civic, Prelude, as well as Acura Integra) tend to go out after so many years (average life ~10 years) while the fuel pumps generally last longer. The fuel pump relay tends to become problematic especially in hot weather. Over the life of the relay, heat causes internal epoxy resins and solder joints to deteriorate, resulting in electrical conduction failure- which can be intermittent. So often times when you let the car cool down for a while, it will start back up again. If the fuel pump was bad, the problem would usually be constant rather than intermittent. The fuel pump relay is a fairly simple part to replace; it's located under the driver's side dash, near the turn signal flasher relay. It's a relatively large relay, rectangular-shaped, with a gray or black housing, and with 7 terminals. If you find one that says MITSUBA RZ-0159 12V, then you've found the correct relay.
