How do dogs get dander?

Answer:
Dander is just shed skin cells (like dandruff), and can be caused by various problems but is also a natural and normal process of skin sloughing. Some of the things that can increase the dander are: nutritional problems that lead to dry coats and skin, infrequent or improper grooming that fails to brush and remove dander and the shed hair that the dander can cling to, dog skin allergies can result in their having increases of dander flakes, and some breeds just naturally exfoliate more than others.
