Dolphin's actually have a unique way of sleeping; they sleep with one half of their brain at a time while the other have controls their swimming and breathing. Once one half of the brain gets the amount of sleep it needs, it switches and the other half of the brain sleeps while the newly rested half takes over control of breathing and swimming. Very interesting stuff that I learned in Biopsychology recently.
They are very busy during the day for a female when they lay eggs they have to take care of the babies before even thinking about sleeping males are lasy they do half of the work and then fall asleep for about 200 hours.
Dolphins can't breathe underwater, and so every every time a dolphin needs to breathe, it has to make the decision to come to the water surface to breathe and supply its lungs with oxygen. Yet a dolphin might only be able to hold its breath for about 15-17 minutes. So how do they sleep?
whales sleep with one half of the brain at a time, keeping the other awake enough to tell them when it's time to Surface for a breath.
Same way as when they're awake: They surface and take a breath.
Yes they do.
they close their eyes:)
No. They're are too big to.
Yes.
In water
Whales and dolphins can't communicate under water
they sleep and like the tropical water
swim.
Under it
They dont have one, they live under water, but i dont know where they sleep as they are mammals and have to breach every few hours for air.
How stupid are u they eat sleep excreet and mate in water :L
They sleep under water.
Whales and Dolphins are born under water and aren't fish.
I think they sleep on the sand under water.
