On the back of the mirror, there is a small heating element. The element heat the mirror the same as the defroster on a rear window.
Check fuses
As long as the wire plugs are the same. it may work
Check fuse. if that does not work broken wire.
Take off the cover on the inside of the cab that houses the bolts/nuts for removing both mirrors. See if there is already factory wiring in that compartment. My 2000 Silverado has factory heated mirrors but, it is a delux eddition that also came with the 4th door and heated seats that a lot of 2000's did not. If it doesn't already have the factory wiring, it depends how savy you are with electrical work. It can be done, just won't be overly easy. The first answer of just selling the truck was a little immature. Jon
There are a few reasons why the heated seats on a 1003 Chevrolet Tahoe may not work. A couple of reasons could be the fuses are blown or the memory module needs replaced.
no not at all. i work at don's auto repair shop and some guy came in andwanted his center console from him 05 Tahoe to his 06 silverado but it isn't the same size
Its hard to compare the two vehicles because the Silverado is a pickup truck that is used more for work or hauling stuff, and the Tahoe is designed more for carrying people Hope this helped :)
Yes it will, It's the same transmission.
replace the mirror glass...the copper heating elements in the heated mirrors have a tendency to get too warm, and melt themselves to the plastic backing plate of the mirror...have seen it on numerous tahoes and escalades. new heated power mirror should only be about 44.50 from your dealership, if you have power/heated/auto dimming, the dealership is going to quote you 302.90! search around on ebay, look for escalade mirrors of the same year and tahoe/suburban/1500 pickups of similar year range mirrors. very easy to fix, look around on this FAQ and you will find where I posted a how-to in response to a question about replacing the mirror on a 2002 i think it was.
It depends on how your Tahoe is currently hooked up. This is a GMT900 truck and any mirrors will physically hook up, they may or may not be able to have the folding capability work, but they will almost certainly function with the turn signals. Yes, they both use the 4L60E transmission. However, it won't work if you're putting a transmission from a 2WD vehicle onto a 4WD drive vehicle or vice versa.
No.
