How do hot springs and geysers form?

A hot spring is formed when ground water heated by a nearby body of magma rises to the surface and collects in a natural pool.

Hot water gets trapped underground in a narrow crack, pressure builds up and finally the mixture sprays above the surface as a geyser. Is how a geyser forms!
