How do i get into cambridge or oxford?

Answer:
They simply want to see potential.
Get some good GCSE grades, and A levels.
Dont take drama/english language/sociology/generaly studies... the things that dont matter.
For any course, they'd prefer a god old fashioned subject - maths, sciences, etc.
Its not to do with your background, its simply how good you are, and basically whether the tutor could stand to lecture you for 4/5 years without you getting on their nerves.
Be yourself, and show potential.
Also, if you go to a state school, don't apply for the major, ancient colleges that frequently top the Norrington table. You can't get in against people who go to Eton. Try the most recent colleges instead, or apply for a school with strong links to Oxford. In most major cities this is usually the most prominent grammar school. If your school does have ties to any Oxbridge colleges, find out which ones because you have a much better chance as preference can (not always) go on favoured institutions.

You need to get at least A*AA at A level, preferably 4 or 5 A levels. More information is available at: http://cambridgesuccess.blogspot.com/
