They use phototsythesis. Cuz, the sun preserves energy then gives it to the plant and helps the plant grow! Photo means light and synthesis means building in Latin.
Plants will take in water (H2O) which it obtains from the soil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) which it obtains from the air, also it uses the energy from the sun to perform photosynthesis
