Different species have different mating rituals. The most common would be the flapping of wings and abdomen waving. Pheromones are released from females to allow male roaches know when they are ready to mate, and in some species there is a specific place they go to mate. In some roaches, if the males feel outnumbered by the females, or the females are not receptive to any of the male's advances the guys will start to imitate the girls to allow themselves to get closer.
