9 weeks would be a surgical abortion where they give you something to soften the cervix and then sedate you, dilates the cervix slowly to the size of a straw and scrape the lining of the uterus using a tool called Curette. They then suck the content out. This take about 10 minutes and is called a D&C, Dilation and Currettage.
