∙ 14y agoYou should have your Veterinarian dock the tail within 3-5 days of birth, no later. I hope you are not planning on doing it yourself as would be extremely painful for the dog and could get infected.

∙ 15y agowhen puppies are born, for the first 2 or 3 days I believe, the dogs have little to no blood flow to the tails with almost no sensitivity or control. It is then that most dogs receive the clip.
