Go to the Timex web site and look up "manuals". They have enough of a listing to figure out the correct procedure for your device. Here is the URL for the page I'm speaking of. http://assets.timex.com/manuals/?timexBrand=core I own the Expedition Adventure Tech Digital Compass Watch, and the following instructions will calibrate its compass. A. To calibrate for magnetic north, press and hold HEADING (from TIME OF DAY mode only) until ROTATE WATCH TWICE appears in the display. B. Hold watch level relative to the horizon (on your wrist, in your palm, or on a non-metallic table). Rotate watch slowly two complete rotations (taking at least fifteen seconds per rotation). Press MODE when finished. (Two-step calibration: Upon completion of STEP A, press HEADING. Do not enter a value for declination angle. While in TIME OF DAY mode, press HEADING. A heading will be displayed. Noting heading value, adjust watch position for heading of 150 degrees. Initiate calibration by pressing and holding HEADING until ROTATE WATCH Twice is displayed. Repeat calibration procedure as discussed in Step A. At completion of calibration proceed normally to Step C.) C. Watch will then call for you to enter DECLINATION. Pressing HEADING will exit calibration mode and leave watch set to measure magnetic north. Entering a declination value instead will allow the watch to point to true north, by adjusting for the angle, which varies for different spots on the globe. D. To set watch for true north, enter declination angle for your location from the chart below. Press START to advance flashing TENS OF DEGREES, press MODE to select DEGREES, then START to advance. Press MODE to select direction, then START to switch between E and W. Press HEADING to exit calibration and save new values. TABLE 1. To calibrate compass, pull crown to MIDDLE position. Keep watch level or place on level surface (if band interferes, place watch on inverted cup). Watch may be face down, but take care to protect watch face. Press COMPASS push button to begin. Indicator hand rotates two revolutions to remind you to rotate watch. While level, SLOWLY rotate watch two revolutions, taking at least 15 seconds per revolution. This is critical in achieving proper calibration. When done, press any push button, keeping watch level. Indicator hand moves back and forth to acknowledge end of calibration and then moves to current declination angle setting. If you do not wish to set declination angle, push crown in. Otherwise, to have watch automatically compensate for declination angle, turn compass ring until north is at 12 o'clock. Press either TIDE or TEMP push button to move indicator hand east (+) or west (-) to point to your location's declination angle. On the Expedition analog compass watch:If your needle has begun returning to the rest position pointing away from 12 o'clock, it will also be off from North by the same amount. To reset the rest position, pull the crown ALL the way out, and use the top & bottom right buttons to return it to the 12 o'clock position. Fix the time (clock will have stopped with the crown all the way out.) Push the crown back into the middle position and calibrate (above).
I've owned one for a few months now,Calibration is easy. 1. pull the right hand middle button out once 2. press the left hand compasss button once (the needle will spin twice to let you know it's in calibration mode) 3. slowly spin the watch twice anti-clockwise (taking about 1 min throughout) 4. press the compass button again (needle will swing to and back at the top to let you know it found the magnetic North position) push the right middle button back in. Job Done.

To calibrate compass you need to drive two full 360 degrees turns and this will calibrate your compass. If the calibration is not successfully completed, then you have to go to dealer to install a magnetic plate to help calibration
A person could purchase a digital compass at any electronics store. Amazon sells digital compasses for between twenty and fifty dollars. You could also go to a local BestBuy and pick one up for around fifty dollars.

I would imagine you are trying to set the on board compass, these require to circle on full lock whilst they self calibrate.
Small magnets are rotated to "null out" local magnet fields so the compass will accurately align to magnetic North.

Digital pocket scales are commonly used for business, shipping, cooking, and more. You should calibrate your scale every 4-5 times you use it, to make sure you get accurate readings. You can calibrate your digital pocket scale by cleaning it and following the calibration steps with weights, coins, or household items.
