Link has to be in wolf form to climb with Midna's help. If there is somewhere she can help you get, she will jump over there. Z-target her and press A to jump up to where she is.

She normally exists in solid form in the twilight world so she just chills on wolf links back instead of being a shadow.

Easy. You find the twilight crystal after you acheived the master sword. Once Link touches the sword, the crystal comes out of his head and Midna uses it to change Link for wolf to human anytime...

The first time link changes into a wolf is when Ordon village is covered in twilight. Then you have to go across the bridge and there will be a weird shaped portal type thing. You go up to it and Midna will confirm with you if you really want to enter the twilight zone.

Midna meet light, midna almost die :'( Zelda sorta die/disappear for midna, midna&link leave to find a mirror of twilight only to find it broken, they go and seach for the shards, and all that jazz, once they do they go to twilight relm where they encounter the main evildoer, or so they think, who revels to be no more than s very crancy person in need of a nap, once midna kills him using her awesome hair related powers, they realize that gannondorf, (no duh) is the real villan, so they go to hyrule castle, confront gannon, where he posseses Zelda (quite a twist right?) you fight Zelda/gannon then he "un"posseses Zelda, and turns into a giant pig, then once you defeat that he starts burning green fire(how many times can you kill this thing anyway!?!?!?!) and midna telepotrs Zelda/link outside of the castle, and tries to deal with gannon herself where she gets blown up and gannon crushes her amazing hat. then Zelda and link get on horseback, and duke it out with gannon AGAIN then he miraculously gets up for a one on one sword battle with link, link finaly stabs him in the stomach, and if as if that wasn't enough, gannon fits in a 5 minet monologue before he dies. midna is then resurrected by the ligh spirits and is her regular self,almost human and life goes on...

well it depends on which part that you are on. like if you are trying to get back to human the first time you turn into a wolf, then you have to collect the tears that turn you back into a human.
Why does link turn into a wolf in Twilight Princess?
I think it's because link was forced through a twilight barrier and because he had a triforce, he was able to transform. All of the regular Hylians would turn into those green lights and the other triforce holders were not forced into a barrier. Or it could just be that the creators wanna confuse us all.
