How do you annul a Catholic marriage?

Answer:
There several reasons a marriage can be annulled.

1 a person is impotent and incapable of consummating a marriage

2 one person is already legally married

3 a person is mentally incapable of understanding what is happening, be it intoxication or mental illness

4 a person was forced to marry under duress, via threats.

5 there is a close blood relation between those that got married

6 one was too young to get married

Any of these cases a grounds for a annulment in the Catholic faith. However the Church does not take lightly annulling a marriage as they believe it a loving bond meant to be for life. You have to petition the Church and they will look at the marriage and access if one or both parties had entered the marriage with good will, but lacked the openness, honesty, maturity, fully free choice, right motivation, emotional stability, or capacity to establish a community of life and love with another person. Even when they view the marriage they will probably want both people to enter counseling first. If they find that everything meets the right for an annulment then one will be granted and you will be free to marry in a church again.
