How do you answer 'How do you plan a typical day at work' in a job interview? In: Job Interviews |
Answer
hi' you could say you use a list that ranks in priority of the task's to complete with a time scale added to act as motivation ,with appropriate rest periods built in to help stimulate you for other task's,should an emergency arrive.
hope this helps
Answer
You should show that you know how to prioritize. At the start of a day -- in any industry -- it is important that you review what needs to be done.
There will be 1.) urgent and important tasks, 2.) urgent but unimportant tasks, and 3.) non-urgent but important tasks. Tasks in category one need to be done first. Tasks in category two need to be addressed but should not overwhelm you. Make time in each day to address tasks in category three.

The above answers are good guidelines, but I think the answer has to be more specific to reflect your suitability for the position that you are applying for. Your answer should be able to tell the interviewer that you are have the expertise and are capable of excelling at the day-to-day tasks of the target job. e.g. If a job requires 5 years of management experience with medium to large teams, your day should reflect what you are presenting yourself as: a manager with 5+years experience managing medium to large teams.

FROM MY OPINION ABOUT THIS QUESTION:
I establish a priority list of things to accomplish. Priority A, B and C. Priority A contains must do items. Things that will be more difficult if not prioritize first or substantially completed. I let nothing get in the way of starting and completing these. Priority B is very important, too. I make every attempt to complete these. However, priority B items can be somewhat negotiated if not completed. Priority C items are those maintenance things that should be done but won't affect operations much if not necessarily done that day. Sometimes priority C items take care of themselves. The important key to success is to accurately identify the proper category of priority.
