By the time they start asking questions, they have already decided.

Studies have shown that people make snap decisions about the interviewee based on the first 27 seconds of the encounter. Their attitude becomes:

"Well, of course they didn't know the answer."

or

"Well, that was a really hard question."

So, smile, dress nicely, and act with confidence. Don't be arrogant, but remember that you are interviewing them as well.

If you are trying to get a job in retail/marketing or sales of any kind it is a common thing for an interviewer to expect someone to be able to sell themselves before they can sell anything else. And when you are marketing yourself or a sales item, you are trying to get the customers confidence.Confidence in the fact that you know what you are talking about and confident that they made the right choice to buy what you are selling. List good qualities about yourself ahead of time and when it comes time to do so, speak confidently about why you are adequate and capable of doing what you are trying to do.Even consider it a big act, pretend you are what you are trying to make them believe, speak as though you are those things with full confidence and NO DOUBT and you will do fine. I hope that helps.

During an interview, you should talk about past job experiences and anything you feel would help you have a better chance at getting the job. Depending on the circumstances, you may want to emphasize any experience you have in that particular field. Also, sound confident, but not concieted, and proove to them that you are right for the job through your actions and complete answers.

Well hopefully you mean on a CV or in an application process. This can simply be done by saying every good thing you have done, how this shows you are a strong candidate and why it could help you for the job. It doesnt matter how long ago it is but ofcourse recent and more applicable examples to the job in question may be better. If you ment selling yourself in another way then you should decide whether you want that job.

Having the confidence and self assurance to properly market yourself in a job interview is difficult for many people. A good rule of thumb is to practice being interviewed, focus on the skills the job requires and be positive.
