How do you answer 'Tell something about yourself . . what do you enjoy doing most' in a job interview?

Here are opinions and answers from WA Contributors: * In this case, its seems rude...but you have to...I recently got asked this same question and my answer was around the lines that I liked working with the people at my job, the teamwork that must be put in by all employees to get the job done and of course, learning new things. * I like doing the administrative and financial work. Especially, I want to be an accountant in the future. * I interviewed a guy who said he enjoyed "blowing stuff up" (except "stuff" wasn't the word he used) the most in his last job. The candidate was a combat engineer, and one of their jobs is blowing stuff up so the answer was fine.

I can't answer this for you since I don't know you but ALWAYS keep your answers positive. Do you enjoy drinking with buddies most? DO NOT say that. Say you enjoy being with friends most. Do you enjoy calling off of work and going fishing most? Instead, say you most enjoy spending time outdoors. IN AN INTERVIEW, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR ANSWERS POSITIVE! ~ T

Such questions are fairly typical of those you will be presented with when applying for a job

As with most things, it is all about preparation. If you fail to prepare then be prepared to fail. There are many 'standard' questions. There are no standard answers as most are asking about you personally. Because of that no one but yourself can answer many of the questions you will be asked. Think about such questions in advance and have your answers ready. There are many sources of the type of questions you may be presented with. The internet and your local library being the main ones. Be positive; do not repeat what you have read in books or on the Internet. By all means read sample answers but do not repeat them verbatim. The person interviewing you will have read all those answers too.

There is more to having a successful job interview than just answering the questions asked. Many would say much more. First impressions count for far more than many realise.

Dress for the part. Be punctual and polite. Listen to what is being said. Answer only the question asked. (Don't ramble)
