Think of something that you had to work hard for, some goal you set that you worked hard to accomplish.
You want your answer to show something about yourself in these ways:
- What you consider important (what you value)
- How you define a goal
- How you plan a project
- What you will do to achieve it
- How you overcome obstacles
- What you regard as success
School:
- graduating (especially if it was a special challenge for you in some way)
- getting a good grade in a difficult subject
- completing a major project
Work:
- learning a challenging skill
- fulfilling a significant responsibility
- handling a difficult task
Personal:
- succeeding in a competitive challenge, such as a sport, a race, or an artistic effort
- becoming proficient in some special ability, such as playing an instrument, learning a skill, or mastering a second language
- planning and carrying out a big activity, such as taking a 200-mile bike trip, rebuilding a car, or running an event
