How do you answer 'Why did you select a secretarial career' in a job interview? In: Job Interviews |
Answer
As a secretary, highlight your strengths, such as:
- Grace under pressure - Your organizational skills - Your clerical skills (typing, filing, etc.) - You very much enjoy freeing up higher management's time so they are not "bogged down" with clerical tasks. - Your pride in your work. - Your upbeat attitude - You feel comfortable in the office environment - You seek to be the best secretary you can be.
I'm assuming this IS the career that you're pursuing. The reason I'm saying that is that I have applied for Assistant positions and the interviewer sometimes mistakenly thinks I'm pursuing a Secretarial position.
If you're applying for a secretarial position, usually its best not to mention ideas of advancement. Just my personal experience/opinion.
