For a question to be answerable, you must make it very clear what you want to know and make sure that there are no ambiguities.
For instance people sometimes ask 'Is it going to rain today' and while this is a perfectly reasonable question, it can not be answered because no mention has been made of where on Earth the person asking the question is located and 'today' is too vague, it is always 'today' the person needs to give a date.
Remember that the people answering the questions may be from anywhere on Earth and some know allot and some know a little but all want to help. However, there are also people who just want to wreck the site and enter rude or rubbish answers - these take allot of clearing up, but we try.
Finally, if you are using WikiAnswers to help with a homework project, do not just type in the assignment as a question, ( do homework for you but will help you if you are stuck) think about the project and ask for answers to bits of it.
