You use a ribbon bar. These are thin frames of metal or plastic with pins. You slide the ribbons onto the frame work in the correct order and it pins onto the uniform with the standard sort of pin with cover. Ribbon bars come in metal for a specific number of ribbons, or you can get plastic ones that can be clipped to size. For a couple of ribbons, I prefer the metal frame, but once you get over a couple of rows, the plastic will provide some give and movement with the body.
In an order of precedence, with the Navy ribbons immediately following the Army ribbon, if the Navy ribbon was awarded for the same thing.
In rows of 3 on the right side of the uniform with rank of the ribbons in descending order.
Any award with a ribbon can be worn on a different service uniform if it was earned while attached to a joint command, the person was involved in a joint mission, etc. The ribbon device is worn on the right breast over the pocket.
depends on your branch of service and the uniform type. The Navy for example can choose to wear their highest three awards on some uniforms and both the navy and Marines can choose to not wear any ribbons on the khaki shirt
you where the ribbons on the left side pocket 1/4 above the pocket
They are standard issue in the Sleeveless Navy for the Service Dress Blue uniform.
Yes. The Working, Service and Dinner Dress White uniforms are supposed to have ribbons on them.
On the left side of your dress uniform for the Army. Usually below the other badges if you have room. Navy, Marines, Airforce will wear ribbons of the left side of the dress uniform. Ferguson
Depends upon the uniform. When medals are worn, ribbons go on the right. When only ribbons are worn, it goes over the left pocket. The Navy PUC ribbon is wore on the left side, it is the highest unit citation awarded in the military.
Facing the uniform, in order of precedence, from left to right, on the left breast, just above where a pocket would normally be. Ribbons go on the right breast. The easiest way to do it is to take them to the uniform shop and have them mount them properly and put them on your uniform. It's worth the money.
The three different uniforms for Army personnel are the Army Combat Uniform (ACU), the Army Service Uniform (ASU), and the Army Dress Blues. Navy personnel have the Navy Working Uniform (NWU), the Navy Service Uniform (NSU), and the Navy Dress Blues. Air Force personnel have the Airman Battle Uniform (ABU), the Service Dress Uniform (SDU), and the Mess Dress Uniform. Each uniform is designed for specific occasions and duties within each branch of the military.
Yes, but not every ribbon is approved for wear on Army uniforms, IIRC.
Yes - if you can prove you earned them!
