How do you audition to be an extra in a movie?

Answer:

If you audition in anything the person that selected you, you should ask them to be an extra if you don't want to have a full part.

I am an actor. To land a role as a background actor is easy but you must be prepared. Have a resume of experience on everything you know how to do, no matter if you think it is silly. Great professional headshots. If you have a headshot that is similar to the role you are auditioning for, submit it. Always make sure your resume and headshots are current. When I started in acting I had no on camera experience. But I got background roles and principle roles right away. But you must go to a,lot of casting calls. Background work is more than seventy percent unpaid. But if you have an agent or belong to a background supply agency, like Casting Associates you can get steady work. They do not charge you any fees but get a commission for finding the casting directors talent. Always be reliable. Do not annoy anyone on the cast or crew. It is a great way to get blackballed. Be prepared to arrive early and wait hours. Waiting is harder than acting.
