How do you avoid plagiarism and intellectual dishonesty when using materials from the internet?

Answer:
You select several sources to research your material.
Then, you write what you have learned in your own words.

If working with images, you take the concept and render it in your own vision.

___

Just putting it in your own words doesn't avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism is about ideas as well... taking someone else's work and presenting it as your own. So, the way to avoid plagiarism and intellectual dishonesty is to give the originator of the idea credit when you use the idea. Write down where you got the information, and when you use it later, give credit where it is due.

Also be careful not to just cut and paste things from one site to another. Posting things counts as publishing them, and you could be violating the other person's copyright. Posting a link is usually a much better way to present a website for other people to look at.
