First and foremost you have to be good at acting. Even if you don't want to move to LA Or New York that will probably still be your destination If you are serious. Find an Agent Do alot of casting calls and auditions no matter what because in this business its not what you know its who you know so try to meet alot of people in the industry and be nice to everyone because one day they can possibly be a big hot shot producer or actor or director and they will remember the ones who helped them get there. Do everything you can you basically you have to dedicate yourself to it, and trust me you will get rejected plenty of times but that's just the way it is.
