You ask a Freemason to join. He may then present your petition to his lodge and then you will be voted on. Please keep in mind in Freemasonry you can not be asked to become a Mason. You must come on your own free will and accord.

If you don't know one, there will be an organization called the "Grand Lodge" in your state or area. Look them up on Google, give them a call and tell them you would like to join.

The two easiest ways to inquire about becoming a Freemason are as follows:

1. Ask a man that you know is a Mason.

2. Contact any Masonic Lodge to ask for assistance.

Ask one to be one. In this age of web everything, find the grand Lodge of (your state or country) and there will be a page about what one needs to do to petition for membership. If you meet the criteria, which is usually to be a man, minimum age 18 to 21 (depending on where you live), have a belief in a Supreme Being and are well recommended (in other words not a criminal and have friends and acquaintances ready to vouch for you) then all you need to is fill out the paperwork and begin the process. This process can take at least several months to several years depending on where you live.

You must ask a Masonic Lodge to join; you cannot be invited. Two members have to support your application.

Freemasons have a slogan, to be one ask one.

Find a man who is a Freemason, and ask him if he would recommend you to be a Freemason. Tradition is that the Freemasons cannot seek out members, and that candidates would have to ask three times of their own free will and accord. Many jurisdictions have changed this to adapt to modern times. If you are a man in good standing in your community, have a belief in a god of some kind, and have interest in becoming a Freemason, find a Mason and ask.

The proper way to join Freemasonry, is to ask a current Mason for a petition to join. This person needs to know you a bit first.

Then the Mason who petitions for you to join will contact his organization., They will send three people to interview you.

You must believe in a Supreme Being, and NOT be a convicted felon, in order to join Freemasonry.

Despite the numerous old stories about the Freemasons - about secret and who knows, Satanic cults and services and about how you had cover for a brother regardless of what he had done - Freemasons of today have much in common with other 'service clubs', albeit with distinctly more spiritual overtones. They are organized into local lodges that are open to all comers, provided the lodge members approve your application. Requirements are usually that you are an adult male, not necessarily religious but prepared to accept that there may be a 'higher force' guiding our actions and prepared to develop your mind and and participate in community-oriented activities. On the internet you can easily find which lodge is closest to you and who you can contact there.

You must make yourself known to a Mason, and tell him of your interest in becoming a member. If he is satisfied that you are a satisfactory candidate, he may give you a petition in which you will ask a Lodge to approve you as a member. You sign it, and it is presented to the Lodge for approval. If approved, you will be asked to present yourself for the initiation ceremony.

You must first get to know someone who is a Freemason. If nobody you know belongs to the Craft, contact the office of the Grand Lodge nearest to you. Discuss with a Freemason what the organization stands for and what you might expect if you join it. If you agree with the principles of the organization and want to join, you present a petition to a Lodge. This petition will have to be signed by members of this Lodge who know you and can vouch for your character. The petition will then be voted on by the Lodge. If the members approve of your application, you can join. Your work then begins.

To become a Freemason, find a Freemason and tell him you would like to join. Look in the phone book for a Lodge if you do not know a Freemason. Freemasons have a slogan, to be one ask one.
