Act in morally responsible ways, learn a skill that is marketable, be responsible, acknowledge your past mistakes and decide to have learned from them.
Also, force yourself to do very goofy things that you normally would never do. For example if you go to school, start singing down the hallway. You will get embarrassed but if you keep doing different, out of character things, you will not be scared to do something different in the future. (Force yourself to not be scared of the unknown) =)
