What is he, a horse?

First of all, unless you're a Marine drill sergeant, you don't BREAK a man; you break a horse. You might try to make an arrogant fellow humble, or at least less arrogant, but you don't break him.

Second, why is this question placed under manners and etiquette? What does humbling someone have to do with manners and etiquette?
