The framing ledger board on a simple slope roof, or the first pair of rafters, would be fastened to the brick via numerous Tapcon masonry type screws or lag and shield type masonry fasteners. Flashing will be accomplished by kerfing into the brick or mortar with a masonry saw or grinder to accomodate metal flashing and caulking.
