First things first, find the telephone number of the mobile phone you wish to call in New Zealand. It should start with 02, followed by between 7 and 9 digits, depending on the carrier. For the example, the unassigned phone number 027 987 6543 will be used.

First, dial the international access code 00, followed by New Zealand's country code 64. Finally, dial the mobile number in full, excluding the first 0. In full, the number you should dial, using the example above, is 0064279876543.

To call New Zealand from Ireland you will need to dial the following numbers - dial them as one long number - you do not need to pause between each part:

  • International phone exchange: 00
  • New Zealand country code: 64
  • Area code: this will depend upon the part of the country you are calling. It will be one digit. X
  • Local number: In New Zealand, 'land-line' (not cell/mobile) phone numbers have seven digits. xxx xxxx
So you will dial a total of 12 digits: 00 64 X xxx xxxx

To call any number in New Zealand from the US, dial

011 = international access prefix from USA (note: other countries use different prefixes)

64 = country code for New Zealand

NZ area code, omitting the leading 0

local number or mobile number

Note also that many mobile phones will allow you to enter a number in international format, beginning in this case with +64. The mobile network will automatically substitute the correct prefix in place of the plus sign.

The telephone country code for New Zealand is +64, and you must drop the trunk prefix 0 from the beginning of the NZ domestic telephone number.

On a mobile phone, just dial the number in international format, beginning with +64 (including the plus symbol).

Otherwise, substitute the Australian international access prefix (by default, 0011, but other prefixes are used for specialised purposes) for the plus symbol. If you are not sure which prefix to use, consult your Australian telephone service provider.

How do you dial Irish mobile starting 087?

I'm assuming that you are trying to call an Irish mobile phone that is currently physically located in Spain. You dial the number exactly the same way you do when the mobile is at home in Ireland. If you are in Ireland, just dial the number beginning with 086; otherwise, replace 086 with +353 86. (On a mobile phone, dial the plus symbol; otherwise, replace it with the appropriate international dialing prefix for the place you are calling from.)

What happens if you dial star-89 on your home phone?

In the United States, *89 is the code to cancel call return. If you dial *69, the phone system will attempt to call back the last person who called you, and will continue to try until either the call goes through or you dial *89 to cancel. If you have a rotary or pulse-dial phone, you can dial 11xx instead of *xx for any of the "star codes" (vertical service codes).

If you dial 911 and dont hit send will it still call?

No, you have to hit the send button on cell phone in order for your phone to actually dial the number. On a home phone, there is no send button so you simply just dial the number.

What are the digits to enter before a nz cell phone number to a person who is in Australia?

To call a New Zealand cell phone that is roaming in Australia, dial exactly the same number you do when it is at home in N.Z. The mobile network will automatically find them.Within New Zealand, dial 02...On a GSM mobile, dial +642...Otherwise, dial your international access prefix, then 642...(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

How do you call an English mobile in Ireland from English mobile in England?

Irish mobile phones begin with 083 or 085 or 086 or 087. To dial any of those four you would dial: 00 353 and then leave out the first zero and dial the other two digits. So if you were dialling 085 9999 999 you would dial: 00 353 85 9999 999.

How do you ring from northern Ireland landline to south Ireland mobile?

All mobile numbers in Ireland start with 08. To dial one from Northern Ireland you dial 00 353 and then drop the zero and dial the rest of the number starting at the 8. So if the number was 089 999 9999 you would dial 00 353 89 999 9999.
