How do you cast off when doing knitting?

[Edit]

It depends on how many stitches you have to cast off. Check your pattern as to how many stitches to cast off. Once you know, knit two stitches, and then take the stitch farthest from the end of your needle, and pull it over the second stitch. You will now have one stitch. Knit another stitch, and cast off the stitch farthest from the end of your needle. Repeat until you have cast off a sufficient amount of stitches.
