To get Darkrai you need to go to a Nintendo event or action replay.If you have action replay first you turn on the walk through walls cheat. Next go to the island where you see Crescellia the first time then go through the right side of the island eventually you get to a new island, once there explore and you'll find Darkrai. The easiest way is to hack for it using the action replay, but if you dont, after you defeat darkrai in Pokemon ranger: shadows of almia, it can be transferred to diamond, pearl, platinum, heartgold, or soulsilver. will NOT work for black and white, must transfer to one of the above, then to black or white.

Darkrai can only be obtained through cheating via Action Replay or a Nintendo event. One such event has occured so far, a showing of the newest Pokemon Movie featuring Darkrai, I believe.

Actually, the only way to get Darkrai is with an Action replay or on Wi-Fi mystery gift (Platinum should have one of these events soon)So, once you get the member's card over Wi-Fi you go to any Pokemart and talk to the man in green he will give you a Member's Card. Then go to Canalave City and go to the house above the Pokemon Center. The house should be unlocked. Go in and a man will say "We've been waiting a long time for you" and put you in a bed. You fall asleep and awake on an island! Go to the top of the island and go in the trees (not walk through walls code on AR) then there will be a small pond and in the middle of it there will be DARKRAI. First, you have to get a action replay and get the National Pokedex. Then get the walk through wall cheat on the action replay, and go to Full Moon Island from Canalave City. Make sure you don't go in where Cresselia is. Use the code and run/walk to the east/right of Full Moon Island, and eventually you'll reach New Moon Island. There, you'll find a Darkrai at level 40.

Or, you can wait until a event is going on for Darkrai. Get the lunar wing after getting the National Pokedex. To do this, go to Canalave City, then talk to the sailor's son who is having a nightmare. Then talk to the sailor and go to Full Moon Island and talk to Cresselia, which will release it into the wild for a random encounter and make it drop the Lunar Wing. Get the lunar wing, come back to Canalave city, and give the boy the lunar wing. When you have the member card, which you get over wi-fi in a Nintendo event, go to the inn, and go in and then Darkrai and New Moon Island will be available.

On Pokemon diamond and pearl? You have to get the member card, go to canalave city, go to the old house that's above the Pokemon center. Someone will be in there and tell you to rest. You wake up on new moon island. Follow the path, and darkrai will be waiting.

There is no event. You need action replay. Go to canalave city and talk to the sailor and go to fullmoon island and keep on going right. Action replay allows to walk through anything keep on walking right until you get to new moon island and darkrai should be there.

The Darkrai Event was the only way to obtain a LEGIT Darkrai without cheating. By going to the event you can receive a FREE Darkrai.

It's actually pretty easy.

When I was fighting Darkrai, I was Storm (aka. Riolu, Level 65), my partner was Pikachu (Level 63), and Cresselia. Darkrai was Level 53. His moves were Night Shade, Quick Attack, Disable, and Hypnosis. But we defeated him easily enough.

Items to bring:

1. Reviver Seeds (I brought 22)
2. 2 Insomniscopes (for you and your partner so Darkrai can't put you to sleep)
3. 1 Chesto Berry (for Cresselia, since you can't give her anything to hold)
4. 5 Max Elixers
5. 8 Rollcall Orbs (used in the dungeons, it's easy to get lost in there)
6. 6 Apples (used in the dungeons, you'll starve since it's like a maze in there)
7. 9 Oran Berries
8. 3 X-Eye Seeds
9. 1 Stun Seed (throw this at Darkrai, then beat up his minions, and THEN attack him)
10. 3 Violent Seeds (take down Darkrai and his bunch in a flash! But I saved them for fighting Darkrai; his minions are actually pretty weak.)

The procedure:

Hopefully, you have a Pikachu or you are a Pikachu with Discharge. If you do, defeat the Rhyperior first. It's that big gray and orange thing (I think it's somewhere on the left side) and it has the Lightning Rod ability, which attracts Electric-type moves without doing harm. So take him down first, then throw the Stun Seed at Darkrai to petrify him.

Then start beating up the Aggron, Arbok, Magmortar, Mismagius, and Magcargo.

Once they're all down, DON'T ATTACK DARKRAI YET. You, your partner, and Cresselia eat the Violent Seeds. If you forgot to put on the Insomniscopes, now is the perfect time. If Cresselia forgot to eat her Chesto Berry, give it to her.

Now's the time of the ultimate battle!

Hopefully, you have Fighting-type moves. Brick Break, for example. Use your strongest moves and take down Darkrai. Since all three of you are immune to sleep, the only moves he can use are Quick Attack and Disable. Disable paralyzes you and it'll get really annoying, so it's best if you also have Protect or Detect (better if it's both you and your partner).

There are three ways to get Darkrai.

One of them is to get Action Replay and activate the "Walk through anything" cheat. Go to Fullmoon Island where Cresselia is supposed to be. Keep walking to the right and you'll get to Newmoon Island where Darkrai is waiting for you. (Lv. 40)

The second one also requires Action Replay. Activate the "Membership Card" cheat or the "Darkrai Cheat." Once you do that, go to Canalave City. Press L+R and hold it until you get inside the Pokemart. Once inside the Pokemart, you'll see a man dressed in green. Talk to him, and (important) he'll give you either the Membership Card OR A DARKRAI EGG. If you receive the Darkrai Egg, just walk around until it's hatched. Once that happens, ta-da, a Darkrai! If you get the Membership Card instead, it's still very easy. Go to the Harbor Inn, located directly above the Pokemon Center. Use the Membership Card. Once inside, a creepy old man comes over and tells you to sleep on the bed. Do so, and you will have nightmares. In the nightmare, you are on Newmoon Island where Darkrai is waiting for you. (Lv. 40)

The third one is a little harder. First buy Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia and complete the Special Mission to get a chance to capture a Darkrai. Capture it, then transfer it to your Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. It'll be considered a trade, so be sure you have enough Gym Badges for it to obey.
